Yesterday was exactly 2 months to the day until THE DAY, our day!
After 13 months of dreaming, in 60 days I will actually be waking up at The Elvetham, getting ready to marry my love and become Mrs Williams – the first page in the next chapter of our love story.
Our 2 month countdown starts in the best possible way … with a WEDDING! One of Ryan’s best friends and his gorgeous fiancée are getting married on Friday 16th June at a stunning Hampshire venue. I feel very blessed that my fellow WAF, the Bride to Be, has become a good friend over the last few years – I mentioned in a previous blog how lucky it is that Ryan’s friends found such wonderful ladies, and it’s so true – it’s a lovely group to be part of. The Bride to Be is flawlessly stylish – I am super excited to see her in her Wedding Dress and share what will be an incredible day, filled with love and happy memories. Recently their venue appeared on a Rock My Wedding blog, it is so gorgeous and I am sure it will look even more incredible with the Bride to Be’s own touches and personal stamp.
I’ve always loved weddings but now that I’m planning my own, I have a better understanding and appreciation of everything that has brought the day, and all of the guests, together. It truly is such an honour to be invited to share in someone’s Wedding Day, enjoying everything that they have spent months planning, alongside them as they celebrate. I’ll be sure to spam Instagram with pictures 🙂
I have my first dress fitting the day after the wedding … as much as I look forward to getting back in my dress, I can’t say I’m too excited at the prospect of an hour’s drive down to Southampton, nursing what will no doubt be a hangover of epic proportions. I feel a little apprehensive about the alterations – I keep having these thoughts that I’m going to be told the dress can’t be altered in the way I want it to, the way it was when I was pinned and clipped into it. Hopefully that won’t be the case! I’ve been working really hard at the gym and eating right (90% of the time – excluding the pizza I had at the weekend) so I’m a little less nervous about feeling massively displeased with certain parts of myself when I pop the dress on again. I still have a little way to go but over the last 3 weeks, I’ve noticed a difference and that’s really spurred me on… along with the realisation that I’m actually getting married in 2 frickin’ months!!!!!!
… and then ITS MY HEN DOOOOOOO!! I went through a little spell of feeling really anxious at the thought of my hen do – I said in another blog I think it’s because I’ve never even thrown a birthday party haha – but that has long gone and now I’m just ridiculously excited. All of my favourite people will be with me and I can’t wait to enjoy a few days with them all, together! Ryan met up with Viki and Bec one night last week and he came home buoyant and excited for me. Everything about my hen do has been kept a secret, except for a recent revelation… we’re going to an AIRPORT **inserts excited face emoji**!! Last weekend, Vik, Bec and I took our little poppet, Eloise, to Reading for a day of Hen Do shopping – it was lush, and after months of being good and not buying any clothes, it felt so amazing to be with my friends, picking out outfits. It reminded me of being in college and popping into town to buy an outfit for the weekend, hopping in and out of each others changing rooms, semi naked haha – I love those girls!! I feel so lucky to have, not 1, but 2 amazing best friends!
It seems crazy to think it’s actually my hen do… I’m actually having a hen do… I’m actually getting married!!!!
Today we ordered my Wedding ring with local jewellers, Originals. It will, hopefully, be ready in 5 weeks… I can’t wait 🙂 They’re also going to resize my engagement ring because it’s still a little big. I love my engagement ring so much that I’d forgotten to include a wedding ring in all of my planning and budgeting but now that I know what I’m having, and what my ring will look like … eeeeek, my finger is going to be so pretty ♥
Tomorrow I am meeting with Grace, our Photographer, at The Elvetham to chat through the plan for the day. I’m looking forward to seeing her and to being back there, it’s been a few months since the last time we were there for our Menu Tasting evening. The sun is supposed to be shining too so that’s a sign that it will be sunny on our wedding day, right?! Throughout the rest of the week I’m going to put my Hen Do outfits together and send pics over to Vik, Bec and Becky to confirm they are adequate for the surprises in store. Feeling very excited right now!
Things are starting to get very real!
Before I know it, another week will be over and it will be Friday – I’ll be sipping Whispering Angel with the WAFS, dancing the night away, celebrating the new Mr & Mrs. Next week is already a write off, I’ll be on wind down mode, clock watching waiting for Friday 24th, for my Hen Do to start and to spend 4 glorious days with ‘my people’.
60 days to go, and feeling a whole lotta love …
